Blur
to headline
Olympics closing concert
Blur have accepted the invite to perform at the London
Olympics Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert subtitled "The Best Of British".
The show, which is a part of BT London Live event series, will
take place in Hyde Park on Sunday, August 12.
The bands who are performing before Blur include The Specials and New
Order. The third special guest is to be announced soon.
According to
the official press release, this appearance will mark
Blur's "only major live performance" this year.
Tickets are priced at
£55 plus booking fee. The general sale starts on Friday,
February 24 at 9am GMT. BT customers can
buy their tickets in advance from Wednesday, February 22 at
9am GMT.
In other
news, Blur will close today's (Feb 21) Brit Awards ceremony with an 11-minute
live set consisting of five songs.
Xfm reported yesterday that the band were seen rehearsing
"Tender", "Song 2", "Girls & Boys" and "Parklife" at the
London's O2 arena just before the War Child Brits Show.
The
