Damon plans solo album and Dr Dee soundtrack

Damon Albarn talks about his new
album projects in the October issue of
[link down] (thanks 2-J for the scan). After
finishing an album with Tony Allen and Flea this autumn, his first
priority is to record a soundtrack of his Dr Dee opera:
"I'm going to get everyone from Dr Dee
in Maida Vale or Abbey Road and run through the whole thing.
We've only got two days because it's so expensive to get all
those people [cast and orchestra] together. It'll be nice
because that's the way records used to be made: get everyone
in, everyone knows their parts and they just play it and
that's it - I'll have to wear one of those '60s George Martin
"Then I'd like to do a record with my own name
on it. I don't know what but there's lots of stuff."
An insider revealed earlier to
The Sun that Damon will be working on the solo record
for most of next year.
