Blur cancel secret fan club gig at last
minute
The fan club gig was meant to be at
a secret location in London on Thursday (December
15). The band were due to play to a set of new
songs to their friends and fan club members only,
but as the management have today announced, the
band "ultimately felt they couldnt do
justice to a full show right now, and want to
concentrate on writing and recording
instead". Apparently, the gig was already
sold out.
At present, there are no plans for a
re-scheduled gig and people who had bought the
tickets can get a full refund.
Update added December 13, 2005:
The following is the official
statement from Blur's management concerning the
cancellation of the gig:
Dear all,
The friends and fanclub gig scheduled for
Thursday this week has now been cancelled. The
band are working on new material and ultimately
felt that at this point their time would be best
spent in the studio. We hope this isn't too
disappointing; there will be definitely be more
news from Blur over the next few weeks. As
always, as soon as anything is confirmed - live
dates or new releases - the fanclub will be the
first to know.
