vblurpage.com: Danger
Mouse to work with Damon again
Danger Mouse, the
co-producer of Gorillaz' latest offering
Demon Days, is set to work with Damon
Albarn again later this year. The pair will not
focus on the new Gorillaz record this time, but
on Damon's Nigeria record which was started in
the summer of 2004.
Danger Mouse told ChartAttack:
"I'm going back to England to work on
another record with Damon. It's going to be very,
very good. It's not Gorillaz, it's not Blur. It's
going to be something special. Not a solo
project. He was in Nigeria working with Tony
Allen, Fela Kuti's band leader/drummer, did some
amazing recordings with some Nigerian musicians.
So we got all those recordings. After the
Gorillaz record we wanted to keep working
together because we worked so well together.
Don't really know what it's going to be called
yet."
No release dates or other
information about the project is available yet
(though it's pretty clear that we will have to
wait until 2006 to hear the results).
