NME.com:
Blur headline Benicassim
BLUR gave a hint as
to what they will play at the CARLING
WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS
with their headline set at the ninth FESTIVAL
INTERNATIONAL DE BENICASSIM in SPAIN
last night (August 8).
Performing a mix of greatest hits
and songs from their latest album 'Think
Tank', the band ripped through a
seventeen song set to a rapturous crowd.
Singer Damon Albarn
exclusively spoke to NME.COM
backstage, and said their set will be similar in
the UK to that in Spain.
"We're pretty much playing the
same set as the Carling Weekender:
Reading and Leeds festival," he
told NME.COM. " After years
of playing the big shows it's nice coming back.
"You soon remember how to
perform on stage - your muscles don't forget
certain things. I can remember it now! I'm older
and more relaxed about it these days. I'm just
taking things as they happen, I'm not trying to
get up and cause the euphoria,"
Damon also
confessed that the band are past their
hard-drinking days on the road, adding: "I
rather go home and have a cup of cocoa now."
During the set, Albarn
dedicated the 'To The End' to
the self-proclaimed 'God of Fuck',
Marilyn Manson.
The set was:
- 'Ambulance'
- 'Beetlebum'
- 'Girls
& Boys'
- 'Gene
by Gene'
- 'For
Tomorrow'
- 'Good
Song'
- 'Tender'
- 'Caravan'
- 'Out
of Time'
- 'Crazy
Beat'
- 'Song
2'
- 'Trimm
Trabb'
- 'Battery
In Your Leg'
- 'The
Universal'
- 'To
The End'
- 'On
The Way To The Club'
- 'We've
Got A File On You'
