Parklife on Mars
Alex James is to host a
programme about space travel later this month, dotmusic
can report.
The Blur bassist will present
'Life On Mars' on the Discovery Channel on
July 27, following an appearance on UK TV several
months ago, in which he fronted a guide to Covent
Garden in London.
James is renowned for his
passion for astronomy, having provided the music
for the Beagle 2 mission with Blur.
The space probe, which took of for Mars on June
3, will collect rock, soil and air samples.
According to reports, the show will
provide background on the Beagle 2 mission
and Mars itself, and include an interview with
the head of the project, Dr Colin Pillinger,
conducted by James.
'Life on Mars' with Alex
James is on the Discovery Channel at 8.00pm
on July 27. Meanwhile, Blur headlne the Reading/Leeds
Festival at the end of August.
