dotmusic.com: Blur gig
online
Blur are set to broadcast one
of their recent London Astoria shows via their
official website, dotmusic can reveal.
From 5pm on Friday (May 16), fans
will be able to watch footage of Monday's show,
by simply logging on to the members area at
www.blur.co.uk.
According to a spokesperson for the
band, the concert was shot by three webcams - one
on stage, one to the side and one positioned
front of house - with a live audio feed also
included in the footage.
As previously reported, Blur's five-night
residency at the central London venue marked a
triumphant return for the band, whose
long-awaited seventh album - 'Think Tank' -
has gone straight to the top of the UK charts.
Performing on stage with a full
band, including three backing vocalists, a
percussionist and keyboard player, Blur also
introduced their UK audience to new guitarist Simon
Tong.
Several tracks from 'Think Tank'
were performed at the gigs, as were a selection
of tracks from the band's vast back-catalogue
including 'Song 2', 'Boys & Girls',
'Beetlebum', 'Tender' 'Trim Trabb'
and 'This Is A Low'.
Monday's show also featured a guest
appearance from actor Phil Daniels, who
joined the band to perform hidden album track,
'Me White Noise'.
Check dotmusic later today
for a full review of Blur's opening night
at the Astoria (Thursday, May 8).
