Damon Albarn - New Blur album is about
'love and politics'
DAMON ALBARN says BLUR's
new album 'THINK TANK' is a
record about "love and politics".
The band's new album is released in
the UK on May 5, and will be followed with a four
night residency at the London Astoria
(May 8-10, 12).
Speaking in the US to promote their
other announced show at the Coachella
festival (April 26), Albarn
explained how the band worked following the
departure of Graham Coxon.
"There was nobody else to do
it, so I had to," Albarn
told Rolling Stone of the guitar
duties. "It was really difficult, but with
that massive change came a new vitality."
Of the new songs, he said 'Brothers
and Sisters', "starts off like John
Lee Hooker and ends up like Grandmaster
Flash."
For an exclusive track-by-track
guide to 'Think Tank' see this
week's NME, which is out now.
