NME.com:
Chemical World?
CHEMICAL BROTHERS
have been approached to work with BLUR
on their new album.
Last weekend the dance stars
performed a headline slot at V2002,
replacing Travis, who cancelled
due to an injury to drummer Neil Primrose.
Speaking recently, Ed Simons
said that they will spend the next month working
on new songs.
"We don't muck about", he
told Rolling Stone. "Our
studio is in Elephant And Castle
in south London and we reconvene
Monday to start again. I've got a month before I
get married, and I'm gonna spend that month
thinking about how we're going to move forward
musically. We don't see any reason why every time
you go into the studio and start writing music
you can't go and make the best music we've ever
made. We don't feel limited at all. We feel we
can do it all again and make it something
great."
In addition to their new album, Simons
claimed Chemical Brothers are
considering working with Blur on
their new album as producers on some songs.
He said: "They want us to
listen to some music they're making with the
possibility of producing or co-producing with
them."
It was widely reported Blur
and Fatboy Slim were planning on
working on the as-yet-untitled album together,
but Slim recently told NME.COM
the pairing was unlikely as he hasn't heard from
them.
From vblurpage.com:
Blur to complete new album
in Morocco
Blur will go to Morocco to complete
the final mixing stages of the new album. The
band hope to finish the album by October.
Alex James has talked about the idea
of turning the record into a film. He writes at
the official Blur site: "Weve been
talking to various people about making a film.
When Hollywood films get made, they put the music
on last, and then use the music to sell the film.
Weve started with the music."
