Damon collaborates with Tony Allen

Damon Albarn has collaborated with Tony Allen, the African percussionist who releases an album called "Home Cooking" on Wrasse Records on September 2nd. The album features the track "Every Season" which was co-written and sung by Damon. The track is described as "a very dubby approach to an afrobeat/funkadelica destination" and is likely to be released as a single. Here's what Tony Allen has got to say about the collaboration:

"I heard Damon wanted to sing on my album. But I didn’t know which track, so I say well maybe one of the slow ones. The first time he came to the studio he listened and tried a few things but he wanted to take it to his own studio to finish it. My rhythm track had been recorded a long time ago and I just wanted him to add more things. I wanted to share the track with him. So it’s his melody. I don’t know where (what influences) he got it from. But its there and it sounds great."
