Blur's James works on Bextor
Blur's Alex James has
been working with pop princess Sophie Ellis
Bextor.
The bassist admitted that it's been
"great working with a girl" to a
British broadsheet. But Blur remains a
priority and he says they'll be back in the
studio by the end of the year.
He also admits to having destroyed a
piece of art by his friend, Damien Hirst.
"I said it was shit and ripped it up - we
were rather drunk at the time."
Unreasonable behaviour seems to be a
favourite pastime of James', by his own
admission. He told 'The Independent' that
during the Blur v Oasis mid 90's Britpop
battle he was "unbearable at that point. It
was disgusting behaviour; we knew we could get
away with murder and that was a very bad signal
to give out."
Not that he's giving out great
signals now though: "Good luck to [Damon's
Gorillaz project]; you want him to do well,
but not too well."
