NME.com:
Old Girls And Boys
BLUR are the latest
in a stellar line-up approached to work with MARIANNE
FAITHFULL on her new album, NME.COM
can reveal.
A source close to the project told NME.COM
this morning (March 15) that Blur
have been in contact with the '60s star in recent
months, with a view to writing alongside her on
the new record.
It is unclear how much the band have
contributed so far, but a spokesperson for Blur
told NME.COM that
"discussions" had definitely taken
place between the two.
As previously revealed on NME.COM,
ex-Smashing Pumpkins vocalist Billy
Corgan and Eurthymics
guitarist Dave Stewart are also
rumoured to be involved.
Beck has already
committed to the project, and is planning to
spend time in a US studio with Faithfull
to work on a number of songs.
Faithfull has
collaborated with other groups in the recent past
including Metallica, providing
vocals on the 1997 single 'The Memory
Remains'.
