Blur and Fatboy to support
'indie' major
A group of the UK's more
politically active bands look set to host a
benefit concert to boost the campaign funds of
potential London mayor Ken Livingstone.
[...]
Blur's Damon Albarn
has been a vocal supporter of Livingstone
for some time and has made no secret that he
backs him in the mayoral battle. Livingstone
has even appeared on a Blur album,
reciting a dull monologue on 'Great Escape'
track 'Ernold Same'
Although it is unclear if Damon
will take part in a possible concert to boost Livingstone's
fund he is though to have only £20,000 at
his disposal Chemical Brothers and Fatboy
Slim are amongst the other acts rumoured to
be involved.
Update
added March 10, 2000 from vblurpage.com:
Despite rumours, Blur are not
playing in a benefit gig for Ken Livingstone's
