That’s great news! Hope the sells keep up and it stays in the top 5.

I really like the silver vinyl colour - for some reason records pressed with a silver tint look like they're melting (they aren't), and that totally fits the vibe of this album.

I opted for the green vinyl — still need to open it up and spin it, but haven’t had a chance in the past 24 hours. Glad to hear the silver is pretty!

The WAEVE enter the album charts at #30. Vinyl charts at #4. So much for the anticipation from the midweek update.

They are #4 in physical sales chart and #5 in Scotland chart (no streams counted in this one for a reason). Due to streaming they were "outselled" by streaming monsters like Queen Greatest Hits...

Finally getting round to listening to this. This and Dave's albums are amongst the strongest Blur solo work for sure. The Waeve album indeed sounds glorious. I thought Superstate was great too, and was annoyed it didn't have a conventional CD/vinyl release. I'd put both of these albums above Damon solo/Gorillaz. Not that it's a competition, but it shows how creative the band as a whole are.
What's my fave Blur solo work you ask? Me Me Me! Those B sides are absolutely amazing songs.
A Blur album that tapped into this potential and was made over a good time frame with proper collaboration could be a career high. I doubt we'd see that though, and the results of their "let's do this really quick and patch it up" method are mixed.

Very enjoyable album. Clear Bowie (Scary Monsters and Blackstar) influences. As well as Pink Floyd. Which is unsusprosing given that Graham's book mentioned some Floyd songs more times than big Blur songs. I love when the guitars get going. Very "13". Also the synths suggest songs like "thought I was a spaceman" were mostly Graham.

Yes it is a fantastic album, I've been playing it a lot. As well as Bowie and Floyd I detect a hint of early Roxy Music, well quite a lot actually. Fits my demographic perfectly!
There isn't one track on the album I dislike - and that's an extremely rare thing. Can't say the same for blur and gorillaz unfortunately - though the other 90% of tracks on their albums more than makes up for it...
And it's so great to see Graham enjoying himself so much. They are really good live, I've seen them a couple of times, and Graham and Rose are really chatty afterwards. I'm glad Graham's in such a good place...

Graham might have taken his Nick Drake influence a bit too far on that one song...
Anyway, I’ve been a fan of Rose Elinor Dougall since her Pipette days (she had the best voice) and it’s fun to guess which songs have primarily come from which writer.

Heads up if you're in London - Rough Trade East has just put signed prints of the album cover and copies of the bonus CD (I'd say 10-15 of each) in their flyers/ tat depository right by the front door, so they're *free* to pick up.

Deluxe version now available with four extra songs, really like Standing Still.
