According to Alex, Girls & Boys premiered at a festival in Sweden, summer 1993, supposedly Fest #1?

They are really going heavy on this 25 year anniversary thing.

Anyway here's a quiz if you want to try it. Tougher than I thought I only got 17/25.

Really enjoyed that. Parklife brings some many happy memories, their Glastonbury '94 performance and the ally apply gig were highlights.
1994 really was their year! So glad I was there (aged 22) to witness it all!

Wow, I only got 15, a few of them I answered too quickly and got wrong. Only a few I didn't know.

In Alex James's autobiography Bit of a Blur he mentions this. It's one of the few real insights into how songs were made, recorded, how they hit the world. Probably artistic kindness but he says they all knew it was a hit as soon as the Swedes went right for it.

Grrr. One of the answers is wrong. Or the question is poorly worded. They've actually headlined Glastonbury 3 times, but they've only counted the 2 Main Stage ones.

This reminds me of the quiz that was once on the official website (to win the 21 boxset or something), with this question: "Song 2 features two tracks of which instrument? (a) guitar (b) bass (c) drums (d) piano"...

Well, there ARE two guitars, there are two basses, and there are two drum tracks. I think I'll never know what they meant with that question, and I probably got it wrong when I answered...

I enjoy learning about the stories behind the songs too. The best interview from this perspective is probably How Did They Do That from Select 1995. Been waiting for an updated version…
