I listened to it - it's pretty nice and simple rock album. I've never heard GbV before, so the first impression is goodForever Low Man wrote:that new gbv album that none of you care about, August By Cake

The expanded edition of Either/Or by Elliott Smith. The album's such a wonderful gem. I love how it has the lo-fi, stripped back to the fundamentals sound of his earlier records, but mixed brilliantly with more production that foreshadows his later stuff, and instrumental details that perfectly serve the songs.

A weird promo of Damon's 'The Marvelous Dream', one of the few existing copies of Car Seat Headrest's 'Monomania', the special edition of New Order's 'Technique', some Japanese 'Song 2' EP which I didn't even know it existed and a couple of CD singles by Graham. Good times.

Yes, I can particularly recommend the Alan Price one which is a forgotten gem, though it was a big hit for him in 1974. The Roy Wood one was good too. I have never got beyond the (few) hit singles of Peter Skellern, though like Roy and Alan he was a kind of 'quintessential English' type of artist.

Re: Albums you've bought
I'm excited to hear the Alan Price and Skellern ones, which like Roy's Mustard were released a long time ago on out-of-print CDs and have been pretty unavailable until now.
Also bought some classics on CD the other day:
Kevin Ayers - Joy of a Toy
Harmonia - Musik von Harmonia
The Slits - Cut

Re: Albums you've bought
Kevin Ayers is perhaps another artist who can be grouped in with Alan Price, Roy Wood and Peter Skellern.
