Ok, just for fun, basing on revelead teasers + including two full songs (they have significant advantage in this case, but who cares) I post my intuitive album sequence, from best to worst. I am really curious how it will be blended after first proper spins:

1917 sounds great. Friday can’t come soon enough! These clips on Instagram make up for the disappointing first two songs although I have a feeling everything will come together nicely on the album when played from start to finish.

I’m not expecting the album to better the debut but it might come close. Only time will tell!

And I hope someone can record the 6 Music show next week! Thank you in advance!

I grew to like “Gun to the Head”. The live version was lacking, it was very bland and Damon did not do a good job on the vocal delivery, but the studio track features more prominent orchestration, which I enjoy, and the uneven pacing of Damon’s vocals works greatly on the song. Roll on Friday indeed

I’m in the same boat, consigliere. Gun to the Head has grown a lot on me, to the point where I think I like it better than Merrie Land. And based on the snippets, Merrie Land and Gun to the Head are the only “growers” on the album for me — all the snippets have sounded marvelous on first listen.

There was also Reddit AMA with Tony Allen (he mentioned "2 bonus tracks in the boxset").

Hmm... according to record stores' websites there're 4 bonus tracks on download card, not 2 (release date is 14 Dec BTW)

So the box sets won’t be shipped until a month later? Damn, I was hoping to get my hands on it sooner. Can’t wait to get those 4 bonus tracks though!

If they stay at 8/10 or above, there's a chance of it doing v well in end-of-year polls and achieving Mercury/Brit nominations. If they dip down to 7s or lower, then it would be unlikely.
