Up All Night is excellent. I was a tad nervous seeing Dreams on the tracklist, I was kind of hoping he'd go in a different direction from that. I don't hate the song but I'm not a massive fan. Wow was much better and Up All Night and Dear Life are absolutely fantastic so I can't wait to hear the new record in full.

Bugman, do you have a link for No Distraction? After you said that I thought it may have been the next single or something but nothing has been put on YouTube. I'd love to hear it!

Downloaded the torrent but I've ordered the limited vinyl too. Apparently he is on Jools Holland this week as well, hopefully it's ace and ill get to catch him on tour soon

On first listen the songs that stand out the most are the ones that were released by themselves earlier on. Up All Night is superb. I don’t know though. So far I get the feeling that Beck is trying to be someone he isn’t. I’m not overly taken with the new musical direction. I think I need to take the weekend to listen to the album properly before coming to a proper conclusion.

Rather boring album imo. Reminded me of The 1975, parts of it made me think of worse things (that godawful 3rd track was boybandy in a really unflattering way). On paper he was talking about this was a complex pop album that could do four things all at once, but sadly Beck isn't Xenomania or Basement Jaxx. Points for trying though. Maybe it'll grow on me I dunno.

I really really liked it... picked up the red vinyl yesterday. Thought about grabbing the yellow, indie record store exclusive vinyl, but oh how I adore red!

I rate it an 8.5 on first listen. The last three songs are just brilliant, such an incredibly strong finish to this record! Up All Night -> Square One -> Fix me

Haven't listened to Beck in years. Really fucking love it. Think I might have to break my budget and get it on vinyl. Think it'll grow on me more and more with each listen.

Saw them/him at Rock Werchter.

Wow...I nearly fell asleep. No energy, no purpose. Just come on, play your songs. Piss of again and collect your cheque.

Thanks very much, cheers.

Ignore my previous comments. The album is superb. Stand out tracks right now after a few days of listening:

I'm So Free
Dear Life
Up All Night
Colors (really good album opener)

Dreams is probably my least favourite track although it's still enjoyable.
