I gotta disagree re Best Coast. Granted I haven't heard their other 2 albums, but California Nights is one of my favourite albums this year so far.
They're SO much better, man.
Noted! I'll endeavour to go back and listen to them soon so.

Oh man... I'm listening to the audio from the Mode gig and reminiscing about hearing Lonesome Street for the first time. I nearly cried

When I heard the recorded version of Spaceman for the first time, I
did cry.

I will never understand why they never played it live afterwards. It was and is my absolute TMW's favourite. The Mode-live-version sounded so great - it would have been a hit single, if the mastered version had sounded a bit more like the live-version.

yeah, still about adale but the last sentence is most important
"Asked about the status of Blur, Albarn said that the band's recently concluded tour for The Magic Whip was "a nice way to pause it."
so another-2-3 years break i think. no gigs in the future

A pause will do nicely, I think Damon has finally got over his urge to want to get away from Blur and is happy to embrace it, I'm sure we will get another album in a few years.

Sad to see confirmation that they are not touring TMW anymore because I missed all the chances this year... I still had the hopes for another UK gig but oh well
But it's good to see Damon referring to it as a "pause" instead of his usual urge to dismiss anything Blur related

Let's cross our fingers!

I am fine with a pause -- my finances need to recover and I have a busy year ahead. Seems the interviewer got him in a good mood.

"I'm bizarrely a [...] lawyer, and that takes up every spare second of the day -- forever."

A couple side-projects and then perhaps they'll do something.
I'd certainly say a next Blur album is more likely now than I would the day before TMW was announced.

Damon has wonder.land and new Gorillaz album to deal with
Graham's about due for another solo album (idk if i was drunk or if it was a rumour but wasn't something said about him writing a book?)
Alex is due to have some more kids and get on tv again
Dave is going to be running for PM
no more blur blur for the next three years until we get another surprise reunion and a yet another unexpected totally new off the hook documentary...
