I'm not listening to it yet but what I haven't said thus far is that I absolutely love the artworks they are using at the moment.

Is it just me or this isn't very good? It's a nice listen but there are few standout moments and it all goes downhill after Let It Happen. I'm gonna give it my third spin but I'm not feeling it at all.

I was so so hyped but I'm kinda struggling with it. I like The Moment, and track 12 I think it is - and I loved all four of the already-released ones - but there's a lot I'm not getting into.Lt Pinkerton wrote:Is it just me or this isn't very good? Weird one for me too....I really like their previous lps and enjoyed them live couple years ago, but when it comes to this one a lot of songs don't seem to leave any mark in my brain. I feel like skipping a lot of them. Let it Happen starts the album quite nice, 'Cause I'm a Man, Love Paranoia, The Moment are pretty good, Disciples has potential but ends to quickly...
Well that just of the top of my head after couple of listens...Will definitely give it another chance 'cause they are too good a band not to.

I love this album. It's Kevin's Kid A meets Daft Punk meets BeeGees meets MJ. Still like Lonerism more though, but I like Currents more than Innerspeaker.

Re: Tame Impala Thread
After a couple more listens Currents is still the weakest one for me. It has its moments, but I just find it boring sometimes.. I really liked the synths endeavor that UMO took with "Multi-Love" while this sounds.. Too plasticy, maybe. It will find its fans, but I'll keep only a couple of songs from it. Maybe it sounds better live - "Let It Happen" got me hooked after I watched a performance of it, so.. If I'd ever attend his show, I'd revisit it afterwards

I like 'Let It Happen' and its trippy feel.

Re: Tame Impala Thread
Lonerism introduced me to Tame Impala and from that I moved backward to discover Innerspeaker. Both those albums stood out among their peers for different reasons, and I could not choose a favourite between them. Currents is another departure and had to play it twice to get to the heart of it. I don't really find this a "dance music" influenced album, tbh. Most songs hit the mid-tempo and it's more chill-out music. Let It Happen, The Moment and The Less I know The Better are probably the most dancey numbers and they are still fairly chilled. There is a groove, but more importantly there are melodies with hooks, songs that stick in your head like the best pop tracks. And I mean that in the best possible way. In all I find the album very rich and satisfying and I can see the band transitioning with ease and upwards. This could easily become Album of the Year. I like it a lot.
My favourite song I think it's Yes I'm Changing. No one has made a song like that for at least 30 years. Majestic.

New Person Same Old Mistakes - my new favourite song from Currents
Re: Tame Impala Thread
It's really grown on me.
Reality in Motion and The Less I Know The Better are my favourites of the ones previously unheard.
Eventually is superb though, and Let It Happen has to be the best track/single of the last few years.
