The "security guy" who carried him off has posted this online....

Hi everyone. Can I please address you all and ‘Random Person below?
I’m the stage manager for the Africa Express project/gigs, I’m the big, bald bloke carrying Damon off.
We had two days rehearsing before the gig where Damon was , and always is, just one of the team/artists who contribute to this wonderful gathering. We are a gleeful family, all pulling together, bouncing ideas around and collaborating with each other to produce a great show, diverse and interesting [we hope?!]
We pull together Senegalese artists, Kenyans, Congolese etc. We all gather and try to produce what is an almost impossible task, it's really hard work! If Damon was at all interested in simply adulation... he could go about it a much easier way!
I carried him off like I had to carry off the fantastic drummer from 'Jupiter' at the Kings Cross show, everyone is equally carried off!!!!
Please understand, the Africa Express is all about love, African musical collaboration and equallity, mutual respect and just hitting that groove while we smile at each other, basking in the joy of creating a vibe you guys can dance to or listen to and enjoy. Damon is a sweetie, he his a hard working, creative bloke who wants to be part of stuff. And he is. Off stage he is warm, clever, sharp, witty often cheeky and vibrant. Want to help him? Buy African music, travel there and love your neighbours.
Sorry, just got home, tired and needed to say that. x

Poor fella, taking the heat for Damon's little riot
Damon's shenanigans aside. I really liked that song they played with Laura Mvula. They both sounded pretty good.

I guess if that would be a thing, tickets would sell out like crazy

RIP Mr. Okay (April 2015 - March 2016)

And I'm sure however long would it take to perform all this music, Damon would still refuse to leave the stage at the end of it

Too bad they didn't lift his pants and cover his butt while taking him off stage. lol Now that would have been smooth. Tell you what Damon, you can play as long as you'd like at MSG on October 23rd

Ah, if only. What a festival to end all festivals that would be! Might be the end of Damon as well though to be fair.TripleJay97 wrote:Just spotted this

Does anyone know what the music was like towards the end? Because I imagine after 7 hours of playing with maybe a minute or two break between songs (if that), the music must have been sloppy. But that said, fair play Damon. The crowd wanted more and he gave them more!

Gorillaz could definitely be it's own travelling festival.
Imagine if it was at the top of a bill featuring Deltron 3030, De La Soul, Little Dragon and so on...
