Cardiacs

Post by TripleJay97 » 27 Oct 2014, 17:58

This may very well be the most underrated band of all time. Proggy, poppy goodness, serving as an inspiration to Blur's britpop years.

I joined the fanbase after hearing the magnificent album "A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window", which was released during the band's most memorable era, when William D. Drake and Sarah Smith were still in the band. Many of the songs on this album remain my favourites ever, with their bouncy, punk energy and tuneful melodies.

Do we have any other fans?

^I highly recommend some of their earlier stuff.

They recently reissued their entire discography through their website, which not many people know about. This makes it a lot easier to access their music.

That sounds like what would have happened if the Residents knew how to play their instruments.

(which i consider a great thing)

I heard somewhere that they got a lifetime ban from the NME, any reason behind that?

Guess where I got my name from.

Also I wonder whether Damon or Graham might be tempted to go to this thing seeing as they're allegedly such big fans of Cardiacs. Tell ya what if they did show and/or Steven Wilson does too I'll be in heaven.

I haven't really listened to them but one of my favourite bands (Oceansize) are big fans of them. I should check them out at some point. Where would be a good starting point?

Try Tarred and Feathered and The Whole World Window. Bonkers and ballady respectively.
