Thank you for voting for me as runner-up in two categories - Best Male and Best/Most Popular Member of the Forum.

Great work AB, and a very interesting introductory write-up on this thread. And also the observational captions you wrote for each award title.

(By looking back at 2016.)

THE BLUR FORUM AWARDS 2017

1. BEST MALE
Runners-up: JAIME (1 vote each)
Damon-loving JAIME... also get a vote.

8. MOST BLUR OBSESSED
Winner: JAIME (3 votes)

But some people's Blur starvation doesn't tame their interest in the band, and if anything, they will only continue scanning their history over and over. A survival tactic? Perhaps. And if that's the case, it should explain why JAIME's interest in the band became most obvious to everyone else. And it's JAIME's second consecutive win in this category too, even if last year we were in the healthier Magic Whip era. My own interest in said musical ensemble, as well as that of Rich's, Tracy Josh's and said melodic and rhythmic group's own angular guitarist Mr. Tweedz was, to some people (well, one person each), even more obvious than that of JAIME's.

19. THE DAVE PRIZE FOR THE NICEST FORUMER SPONSORED BY FRED PERRY
Runners-up: JAIME (1 vote each)

First of all, congratulations to the winners! :D

Well, I have to say that I'm very surprised to have been nominated in some categories, considering vblurpage.com was blocked in my workplace around May 2016, so during the last year I was not an "active member" really. Also, I have a little baby now :P , so I don't have too much time to read and post on the forum during this year.
Thanks again for voting for me in those 3 categories, but I don't think I deserve it.

Cheers!

These were great, as usual Thanks again for the votes, and for voting me for slack attendance! I had a lot of personal upheaval over the last ~9 months with a job layoff, job search, starting a new job, big move for my family, selling a house, buying a house, etc...good to be back now!

I joined in with the awards previously. They are quite good.

If I may make a couple of suggestions - perhaps less categories, and omit some of the inane ones (e.g. sexiest male/female etc).

On the old forum the host created a separate thread before the main awards where we all decided on categories together. We did that on this forum too, the first time AdvertBreak hosted. We should do the same again. In general I'm happy with the current categories but I agree with sexiest male and female being replaced.

i think we need less open ended categories that result in everything winning because they all got 1 vote
