I love both of these.

23 years? Oof! Sensational album from start to finish. And great b-sides as well. I can't fault the album at all.

I love a lot of b-sides too. Doesn't mean they're worthy of an album.

I'd argue that 13 and Think Tank were their first albums that made more sense musically when listened from start to finish. Leisure to Blur (and Magic Whip) were collections of songs. 13 and Think Tank were musical journeys. Just my two cents.

OK, I love both of these and think they fully deserve their place on the album.dparrott wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 15:38I love a lot of b-sides too. Doesn't mean they're worthy of an album.

Interesting points Tom, though I think the self-titled album began the musical journey. 'Leisure' was very of the baggy-shoegaze period, the mid-90s trilogy were very Britpop.

Yeah I think the self-titled was them dipping their toes in the water. Certainly a journey! Then 13 and Think Tank the process flowed more easily. I'd argue that every album Damon has done since is a musical journey that makes more sense from start to finish than individually.Mallard No. 22 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 08:46Interesting points Tom, though I think the self-titled album began the musical journey. A further point - I had always assumed the "Low low low"at the end of Caramel was a bit of an on-the-nose allusion to the Bowie album. But I have realised its actually the start of "New Gold Dream" by Simple Minds. Obviously Gorillaz had a song of the same name last year..
