I put me trousers on, have a cup of tea, and think about leaving the house...

Looks like it...

On 4th August 2020, a massive explosion rocked the city of Beirut claiming the lives of at least 200 people. A further 6,500 people were injured and millions of dollars worth of damage left 300,000 people homeless. But the true cost of the explosion is still untold.

In response to this the LIVE FOR BEIRUT project was created by Ciara Haidar, a musician of Lebanese descent who brought some of London’s finest musicians together for a very special night of live music here at Jazz Cafe back in September. Following the success of the night and the fact that aid is still very much needed, she presents LIVE FOR BEIRUT 2.0. Expect intimate one-off performances from Graham Coxon, Mystery Jets, Rose Elinor Dougall, Bessie Turner and Ciara Haidar. Plus special DJ sets from Nadine Shah, Django Django and Lau.ra.

LIVE FOR BEIRUT hopes to raise much needed funds for the people of Beirut. 100% of all ticket revenue will be donated to Lebanon Red Cross who distribute disaster relief directly to where it’s needed most.

The Jazz Cafe were doing socially distanced gigs before lockdown (which 'ends' on 2 December here)

Think I'll give it a miss though - I'll wait a few more months until we get vacinated...

Seems stupid. Well, let's just say if it was here in America I wouldn't be anywhere near the gig. Super spreader waiting to happen. UK might be ok but still...

The set up seems fine to me, looks from the seating plan like tables only and suitably distanced

No worse than being in a restaurant

Tough one because it's obviously in good nature but the choice of event/time is a debatable one

I'm still unsure if I'm seeing family this holiday

I haven’t eaten in a restaurant since March so that isn’t necessarily a good thing.

If you're scared of even going to a socially distanced event, you really do have problems. Super spreader event! lol

If I've learned anything this past year its to not be too critical of other peoples thoughts/emotions, and show a bit more compassion

Exactly! (icluding not to tell other people that their favorite musician is a "c...nt" and you "hate" him, right?)

I think it's interesting that they've announced an in person event given everything that's going on in the UK at the moment. I'd like to think this was advertised with a level of optimism that case numbers would drop significantly and it would be safe to go on the 12th.

I hope I'm reading the data wrong, but if there were 11k confirmed cases yesterday then surely things aren't looking good for this going ahead. Will be interesting to see what happens.

There were over 600 corona related deaths yesterday and they are opening everything up again

The show is actually on 11th December (I've fixed the thread title).

There is a rumour that The Vaccines will open the show.

No need to be a dick after the year we've all had. COVID and the risk of contracting it is serious. I wouldn't be comfortable going to any indoor event socially distanced or not.
