Best rap in Gorillaz

Post by Rubi » 10 Oct 2020, 12:21

That's something I never really thought about. Maybe because I don't care that much about rap in general, but considering the huge amount of guest rappers in Gorillaz songs, who do you think delivers some of the best bits?

For me, Del is an undisputed winner, primarily in Clint Eastwood where he knocks it out of the park, but he's quite great in Rock the House, too.

Then you have MF Doom who makes November Has Come a little gem. And obviously De La Soul in Feel Good Inc. has become quite iconic.

Other great mentions for me are Kano and Bashy in White Flag, Mos Def in Sweepstakes and recently ScHoolboy Q in Pac-Man.

for me clint eastwood but the phi life cypher version is just way above the rest, the lyrics are so on board with the gorillaz brand and that's not me just being left field for the sake of it

For me the ones that I liked the most were the ones in Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc., and Superfast Jellyfish.
Im not going to lie, I’m not the biggest fan of rap. I can respect and appreciate it, but it’s not really something that I really enjoy.

I love old school rap (not this new crap) and my favorite is FGI.

I actually made a remix of California years ago and dropped my own verse in it:
