Interesting that the tune they have chosen for their announcement video for next year is a Gorillaz one, and Feel Good Inc. at that. It's now a 15 year old song! Surely one of the other acts has a newer song as big? Perhaps not?

Werchter is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It was fine 10 years ago when alternative rock was still largely popular among young adults, I'm showing my age but I don't know what you'd called the majority of pop music now (EDM pop crap?). Anyway they tried to keep up with modern music and it caused a little bit of a backlash because it's 'Rock Werchter', so it should be mainly 'Rock' music. I think that is a fair enough statement. There is Klub C tent which is largely for the younger crowd to get excited that mummy let them go to a festival and they got drunks and snogged a guy omg....Anyway. I think most festivals struggle with this with some degree, most of the larger acts are those that have been in the industry 20+ years. I think Gorillaz are as close as you can get for young people to get excited about and older people to feel not so old so they fit perfectly with the brand.

I hear what you are saying stephen - I like to think they will happen, but I agree with your cautious approach.

Just had my Circle of Friends code for tour pre-sale come through. Only UK date on list currently is O2.
If they're not gonna play anywhere else I hope they confirm it by next week. Don't mind going to London for a one-off but won't be happy if they later announce Birmingham.

At this stage it's pretty hard to confirm it will happen in 2021 tbh, never mind what other shows they might play. My guess is that there would be more, but you might well be looking at festivals rather than shows.

Yeah. No stress at all. I was straight on at 9 and had pre-registered my details beforehand so literally a couple of clicks. Never been to the O2 before, but it'll be 2 days before my 50th birthday so I thought I'd treat myself.
