Best album closer

Post by Rubi » 10 Apr 2020, 12:28

Since we were discussing them in the other topic.

But let's do it differently: let's not consider the various short songs/outros like Commercial Break, Lot 105 etc. and stick to the ballads this time around.

My choice: No Distance Left to Run.

I voted with my head and said This Is A Low. But if I was voting with my heart it would've been close between Yuko and Hiro and Battery In Your Leg.

I voted TiaL but I kinda wanted to pick No Distance or Battery. It’s a tough call.

This is a Low, the popular choice. Emotionally though I went for Resigned. It makes me cry just that little bit more
I can't wear that, stupid rain hat

That's tough, three good answers. Yea TIAL is great, but I went with Wear Me Down.

I did the same. When considering Parklife as a whole, TIAL is just so perfect. And no doubt it is one of the best album closers of all time. But Battery In Your Leg holds a very special place in my heart -- only song on Think Tank with Graham, one of Damon's finest melancholy moments, and beautifully produced. Also one of my favorite drum bits than Dave ever made! The way he finesses the line between thunderous and atmospheric has always struck me.

Difficult choice. Some of those songs are my favourites Blur songs. But choosing with the heart, I choose "This is a low".

Incredible selection of songs. I love Mirrorball, definitely under-rated

Has to be TIAL though, in the context of the album

Right here!
I've been *so* busy lately that I haven't found the time, to open up my mind and post on Veikko's Blur Page Forum.
