It's not the actual painting (Apprentice), it's a signed print donated by Mike Smith (I'm going to share some info about this auction on DAU so I asked Mike yesterday).
People are bidding on a print??

Yes. I queried it, and commented that the item description is vague. This was the reply.

It's a good cause, good luck to anyone who can afford to support it, but I can't justify a £500 premium in this instance.

I know it's for charity but if I wanted the print I could just buy it for cheaper on the official store

Thank you for the information Foggy. Much appreciated, particularly as it wasn't clear to me tbh.

I totally agree. Anyone can donate to charity through various means, without need for reward. I hate charity shaming too and its pretty toxic if you dive a little deeper into that but that's a whole different subject.

However I'm all for an event such as this to own a great piece and paying a fee that could well be over the odds but means something to the buyer whilst hopefully donating to a good cause. However, in this case I'd prefer an original Coxon that we have never seen, perhaps one that was scribbled in 10 mins on a beer mat or even painted for the event than the lazy way out. I mean, thanks Graham for signing a print but don't put your back out.

I certainly don't mean to be harsh but that's how it looks to me. And for the record, no one has done anything wrong here, its just chatting. Maybe putting the onus back on the artist than the potential bidders.

well, Graham's print made £825 https://givergy.uk/theartofmusic/?contr ... lToItem=16
Probably a decent/fair amount considering. The auction itself was hard to find, if it wasnt for this thread I wouldnt have seen it.
