Blur Drum Chronology
Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum for this (since it's self-promo), if so could a mod please move it to the appropriate forum?
I've been a long-time lurker of this forum but I thought you all would like to see this video. I started a drumming YouTube channel recently and as my first video I did a "drum chronology" of Blur, where I cover a bit of every song from every album in 9 minutes.
Check it out here: https://youtu.be/PnKrYP0y3oc
Thanks.

Super cool! Well done. How long did it take to perfect that?
I can't wear that, stupid rain hat
Re: Blur Drum Chronology
This is fantastic! Wow, what a great idea, and great job executing it. This must have taken ages!
And damn, Dave sure has made some great rhythms!

About 4-5 days of rehearsing it, plus a day of shooting. Took I think 10 takes before I got one that I was satisfied enough with. There are still a few mistakes in the video, I sort of gave up on getting it 100%. Most Blur songs I've been playing for years and years though, since middle school probably, so a lot of the parts weren't new to me.anothermario wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 15:33Super cool! Well done. I've played in quite a few bands (here's Spotify link for my main one: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2dhj43FiqNrbyLG5EKItqV)TracyJosh wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 11:23

Sounds good though. If you're interested I may be able to record some drum tracks for you and send them over online. PM me if you have anything you'd like me to work on.

Absolutely - I did not buy the 'Popscene' single originally, thinking that it would appear on a forthcoming album. I eventually got it on the Canadian release of the album, which I bought to upgrade from cassette to CD.Sledge Hammer wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 13:42Popscene should have been on all releases of Modern Life....sigh

Mallard sound like we around at the same time, always identify with you answers. I remember There's No Other Way on the video jukebox in the pub in 1991 but didn't get into Blur properly till Modern Life in 1993 and then was hooked!

Sledge Hammer - we probably were around at the same time
I don't remember 'She's So High' in 1990, but I think that evening Radio One must have played it
I picked up on 'There's No Other Way' because Radio One played it through the day and IIRC it had a big climb up the top 40.
I didn't buy it on a single, and didn't buy 'Bang!' either, but they alerted me to the album release, and I bought 'Leisure'.
