I thought gun to the head was great. Sounds like the music hall inspired days of blur. Imagine Graham’s guitar on there?

Agh I don't know. Damon was a little shouty as if some of this stuff was out of his range. I'm willing to bet he sings some of this in falsetto for the studio version. But overall, a good song! I like the lyrics and recorder parts, and love that chorus. :D

After a few listens no I am loving this song, I can certainly pick up on the early Blur but it has that menacing sound you get from TGTBATQ with moody bass, stiring strings, subtle yet great guitar and those drums from TA. The words to both songs on first listen sound like nonesence but reveal themselves on further listens, painting a picture for the listener. It is great to have them back, can’t wait for the album :)

They are evident throughout Merrie Land, especially on the bridge leading into the final part. I have to admit the guitar is somewhat muted up to now, but too early to say after only hearing the one studio version. The thing is even after a 12 year gap they still sound like TGTBATQ.

It sounds like a demo out of Modern Life is Rubbish...not a fan of it though on first listen.

I love Gun to the Head! I'm all about Damon's recorder army :lol:

Also, I'm definitely going to head to one of those North Shields shows, they're ten minutes from my hometown. No idea why Damon would wanna hang out there for three days though.

Tickets tomorrow at 9 AM here --> https://www.seetickets.com/tour/the-goo ... -the-queen
Both venues are very small (capacity less than 100).

Cullercoats Crescent Club stage, it makes me sick with jealousy :shock:

Have you been able to get tickets for a North Shields show 3Jay? Yesterday the ticket source was at first some badly reviewed US ticket site, later it defaulted to no shows - suggesting all sold out? (I'm not bothered as I've got tickets for one of the Hackney shows.) You could always just turn up at NS and talk your way in like I did for blur at Mode and gorillaz at Printworks - the trick is to wait for a guestlist person who turns up without their +1 ;)

edit - just seen lumaka's post about tickets :roll:
wow, what a gig - you can lie on a mat with a towel and listen to TGTB&TQ :)
