yes it was a great Live Jools performance - some random observations...

Didn't think they'd repeat the mobility scooters fluffed line thing, but they did!
Good to see Mike on keyboards again - that's gorillaz, blur, heavy seas, TGTB&TQ...
Paul singing (a bit) - didn't expect that!
Damon wearing specs singing the lyrics...
Three mike stands on stage, so will definitely be doing more in the extra show...
Damon is morphing into John Simm!
The Mastertapes issue must be with the BBC? The band were fine tonight...
Damon flew out of LA last week as gorillaz and landed in London as TGTB&TQ!

..and wasn't Terry Reid amazing!

Anyone have a video? I’m more interested in the new songs they’ll play on Friday.

Sounded great! And I love the puppets on stage. The good the bad and the queen’s aesthetic is so fitting and so nice. Can’t wait to see more songs (if they were indeed recorded)!

I like the words of Merrie Land but as a song I don't think it's in the same class as the likes of Herculean. Not an inspiring first choice. Hope the rest of the album is better. Didn't think the Jools performance was great. As a barometer - Twitter response was pretty lukewarm.

Further to our previous email letting you know that it had been necessary to postpone the recording of Mastertapes... with The Good, The Bad & The Queen, which was due to record on Wednesday 31 October, we're now able to confirm that this recording has been rescheduled and will take place on Friday 7 December at BBC Maida Vale Studios.

Tour dates have yet to be confirmed, but he is adamant he and the band will perform in North Wales: "We're performing in Blackpool, and Glasgow, and we'll be warming up in some working clubs on the East coast on the Tyne and then next year I want to do a proper tour of the British Isles, everywhere.

I reckon it'll be three songs including Merrie Land and an interview with Jools.

Not really sure of what I think of Gun to the Head, I like the bit near the end, very moody but the rest is a little.... but may be a grower :)

Merrie Land is certainly a grower as a track but doesn’t compare to any of the tracks on the first album, although it is a good track, Gun to the Head would be a 6/10 for me too on first listen.
