blur songs that would sound better now

Post by damon008 » 01 Dec 2017, 18:43

after succes of my last post about songs damon should retire, its time"" now to say whatblur should add to futureset lists.

i make 2 simple rules
1. based on damons new voice
2. because topic of song is more relevent 2day than when made

so i start

-badhead. more mature voice
-bank holiday - i think gruff voice would be great

wild card
-coffee tv

bank holiday is a definite no. the song requires youthful energy and, i guess, youthful voice that he absolutely does not have anymore.

badhead makes sense though.

i defenitly would have agreed with you on bank holiday but then i saw them sing it as practise for hyde park reunion. damons voice in years gone by was tryin to get it rough for this song. nowhe is naturally rough and i think he grew into the song

the last time blur played it live is here below

I love Badhead on the Hyde Park 09 cd.. beautiful melody shines even more with Damon's more mature voice

Since many 90s artists are on a roll again, with quite lively work, I think 'Popscene' would suit the present day.

A powerful song overlooked at the time.
"Everybody's Doing It...So Do It Too...."

"Badhead" sounded brilliant when they performed it at Hyde Park 2015 and should remain a staple whenever they do decide to have another concert.

Sorry, if I'm still obsessed with this period, but any of the B-Sides from "13" or demos or B-Sides post "13" and prior to "Think Tank" would be perfect. "So You" and "Black Book" especially!
