They're preparing for the live shows, so the album must be finished (apart from mastering maybe). From what I've gathered from the social media, the band's lineup is:

Jeff Wootton - guitar
Seye - bass
Mike Smith - keyboards
Gabriel "Manuals" Wallace - drums
Karl Vanden Bossche - drums/percussion

Damon's regular drummer Pauli The PSM is currently promoting his solo material, so apparently he's not present.

that looks a tight little band - the heavy seas were great live, so this looks promising :)
presumably room for guests :)
what mail lists do I need to be on for warm up gigs? I'm on blur's and Damon's (I think) - do gorillaz have one?

Very happy with this line up! I wish I could've seen the massive band back in 2010, especially because of Mick and Paul, but alas.

Kinda glad Pauli isn't drumming. For some reason he never really impressed. I'm terribly excited for the album and tour!! The Heavy Seas were truly wonderful live, can't wait to see the chemistry and energy they bring to Gorillaz shows :)

So who from this list played in the Heavy Seas, or is it the exact same band?

the heavy seas live were:
Damon (vocals/acoustic guitar with strings missing/electric guitar/piano)
Jeff (guitar/bass/backing vocals)
Seye (bass/guitar/backing vocals)
Mike (keyboards/backing vocals)
Pauli (drums) - not playing in gorillaz, as mentioned above...

plenty of gig reviews littered around the internet, plus there was the very good Albert Hall live album https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_at_the_De_De_De_Der
and my video! https://vimeo.com/111991524

Thanks Rich. :) It'll be interesting to see how they cope with Gorillaz then, although I know they played one or two Gorillaz tunes on tour with Damon when he toured Everyday Robots. If memory serves me well though it appears this band is a lot smaller than the band used on the 2010 Gorillaz tour. I hope that means they plan on playing smaller venues rather than big stadiums, I was a little disappointed by the sound at the O2 Arena.

I thought Blur had a female keyboard player up to the 13 sort of time.

Cara Tivey was their live keyboardist for MLIR and Parklife tours. Believe Mike came in after that.

If that's the show I'm thinking about it's one of the best I've ever heard, a long time favourite. 13 in full from start to finish...orgasmic.

Amazed that Cass Browne isn't involved as of yet.
Am certain they'll need a second keyboardist too (i.e. Jesse hacket).

Anyone want to go out on a limb and guess who they'll bring along on the tour for the collab songs?
