Ovation Network Blur Documentary 2001

Post by saltandgin » 27 Jan 2017, 21:05

Anyone seen this? Doesn't ring a bell.

' ....Probably the most in-depth documentary about Blur ever made. Includes interviews with band members, behind the scenes in the studio recording, Dave’s project for recording a score for a film and live performance clips of many songs including Popscene, Tender, Girls & Boys, Parklife among others. All commercials edited out (45 Minutes)'

Could this actually be 1999's South Bank Show?

Sounds like the Southbank show, but obviously it was Damon's soundtrack not Dave's.
Ovation Network is a U.S. broadcaster, so it seems most likely that they would have lisenced the UK Southbank Show from 1999 and broadcast it in the U.S. in 2001, just someone has confused Damon and Dave in the listing.

Great doc though, favourite bit is when Damon is getting stroppy at the soundtrack recording and one of the musicians goes 'ooooh'

Too bad blur cast.tv seems to be down...

Has this been taken down now? South bank show was on sky recently I remembered watching it when first came on. Still remember 1999 when MTV2 had blur day for release of 13 and played loads of promo bids, I took the day off work to record them on vhs only to be scuppered by the best of dvd. Watched the Damon documentary again recently shown around release of everyday robots, really like Damon in that

What Damon doco is that?

I liked the Culture Show one he did before his solo album came out; comes across really well on it. Cool outfit for an older guy too.
