Fuck, imagine that. playing a gig knowing Bowie's in the audience! No better compliment. :D

Was it around this time David asked Damon to perform Fashion together on the TV show?

(Might not have been NME, unless it was this as well): Bowie recommending Think Tank to friends http://www.contactmusic.com/david-bowie ... loves-blur" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Ever since THINK TANK came out, I've been putting it on my 'go buy it' list to friends, so it was a treat when I found out they were playing in town."

And right he was, what with TT being fantastic. :D

One wonders if he'd heard much Blur in the 90s, what with him living in the States. I'm sure he would of heard of them at least.

I can just see Bono singing "Heroes" and trying to make it dramatic.

Nothing will ever beat Bowie's "Heroes" performance from Live Aid in 1985 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGOx0ZpMrrU

I don't mind Bowie's live Heroes of the 80s but one of the keys to the original is how the few instruments there were soared, and that's kinda lost when you add brass and lots of other stuff. Bono should be okay.

Coldplay over Blur as godlike genius?!?! That's gotta be a joke.. I mean, the only thing that Coldplay achieved more than Blur is a larger fame worldwide. Apart from that, Blur is a better band by ANY means: songwriting, artistic development, eclecticism... I really don't get it, 2015 has been Blur's big comeback year and the Brits should have recognized that a lot more.

Why should you award a band as "godlike" when they just released one of their lamest records and not a band that managed to record a great, solid album after 16 years of songwriting inactivity?

You're right, I'm probably taking this thing too seriously, but it's actually appalling to hear..
