Utterly brilliant set that left Splendour for dead.
More pics tomorrow when I get through them all but for now...

Adam - don't know if you're on here but if so, drop me a line.

ADAM! you legend
so articulate
"It's not about Sydney, it's not about Byron Bay, it's all about Melbourne!"
"I feel like this is a family affair tonight"
"This country's tuned in, but Melbourne, you know, is more "tuned in" that the rest"
"You know, we were all just talking off stage about how much we're enjoying playing for you tonight, so thanks"
"Maybe tonight's a night were we should get you to make some requests, for some lesser known songs, although I'd probably need some lyric sheets"
"Melbourne, you are beautiful"

Oh god it would've been amazing to have lesser-known songsWoodPigeon wrote:ADAM! you legendso articulate

Re: Gig: Melbourne, 28 July
So happy to see more TMW songs appearing in these gigs. Obviously, would have been good to have them in the UK etc etc etc, but at least the band haven't fallen out of love with the new songs or something equally ridiculous.
Re: Gig: Melbourne, 28 July
It feels good to read all the super positive feedback of the last gig, cant wait to see the pics!!!

Now that's a great setlist. Replace Badhead for HTOC and This Is A Low or To The End for Mirrorball or TATMOU and that's pretty much it.

Don't touch This Is A LowLt Pinkerton wrote:Replace Badhead for HTOC and This Is A Low or To The End for Mirrorball or TATMOU and that's pretty much it.

Re: Gig: Melbourne, 28 July
I'm with Pinky, time for This Is A Low to go in favour of something like Mirrorball. Great track of course but (for me at least) I'd love to hear a newer track. I'd even take Battle or Ambulance.

It's heartening to see they are being more adventurous with the setlist. Sounds like a great gig.
Re: Gig: Melbourne, 28 July
Blurs first time in aus since 97.. Or 98.. Remember:)
Audience full of people not seen them before or not seen them in a long time. Having standards in setlist was completely fine from my vantage point
:) very happy they played to the end, this is a low. Also would have taken end of a century but what can you do (damon albarn did play it solo when touring last year so im guessing that was the consideration).
