21 box set - the dvds

Post by Vern » 06 Jul 2015, 15:53

I managed to only buy the 3 dvds in the 21 box set for... £3!

I actually think they could've done better with the dvd offering.

Showtime is obviously a classic. The Wembley show is badly filmed and not a great show to be honest. The bonus disc is better though. The 13 songs are great as well as the TOTP performance and the It Could Be You promo video.

I think they should've included the Mile End gig rather than Wembley, Starshaped and all of the music videos and rare promo videos.

Was Mile End filmed?
Also,I'd like to see the couple of songs played on hmv rooftop which were meant to be made into some short film back then but never made it.

Yeah including Starshaped seems like such an obvious thing to do. Sucks that they didn't.

I'm busy ripping the dvd content so I can keep it on my computer. Running into problems with the 3rd disc which is the bonus content. I use HandBrake and it only picks up on the Live 13 tracks and not the other bonus content. Anyone know how to also rip special features and content?

Lies. The Wembley show is phenomenal. The only issue I really have is with the Showtime DVD. The video quality doesn't seem to have improved from VHS to DVD weirdly enough.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. ;)

On that note, I just managed to buy the Blur 21 book seperately too, so I'm really pleased about that!
