Yeah I agree. Can't grumble too much as it is going to charity but a bit of a joke to those of us who paid full price - and they wonder why ticket sales were slow in the first place. All this does is put people off buying tickets early!JackS wrote:Yep, £12.50 a ticket as it's a £10 minimum donation.dougharrison wrote:Cheap HP tickets are available...

Angry not only that I have spent £150 for two tickets, but that not a single penny of that has gone to charity.
Ah well, it raises some extra money for these charities, which can only be a good thing. At least it's not a cynical marketing ploy like last year's farce.
Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
No refunds permitted to be able to buy the charity tickets. Bastards.
Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
I sadly can't make Beck/Blur as I have gigs of my own buy I'm eying up The Who for £12.50 with Paul Weller thrown in. Fucking bargain!!!

Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
Whilst I have cynically grabbed the cheapest tickets going (getting 2 tickets can be done for £15, making it £7.50 each) I completely agree that it is a slap in the face to those who have paid full price. Gutted that I cant get there until a bit later, as there are others I would watch.
Wish I could go and see Beck on Thursday too, but sadly clashes with a funeral, but definitely some bargains to be had now.

I do feel bad for people that rushed to buy £80 tickets when the they went on sale but prices like these are too good to miss for the rest of us. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I did say when the gigs were first announced that it was just a matter of waiting for cheapo Hyde Park tickets! at least it's for charity this time.

To be honest I had planned to swerve HP this time round, whilst cost wasn't the main factor (went in 09, have a work related course on the same day, not too keen on huge outdoor gigs, sound issues at HP in the past, VIP areas, etc etc) prices that cheap were too good to say no to.
Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
I really didn't think they'd pull this shit again. Obviously, it's good there's a charity element to it, but jesus christ, why not at least give a tenner of every overpriced full-price ticket to charity, and take a hit to your profits? That would be a much better way of doing it, if BST really cared about charity.
Obviously I'm glad to be going to Hyde Park, but knowing that I could have been there drinking the overpriced beer for £125 less overall is a real kick in the teeth.

Well I wasn't bothering with Hyde Park but it's very tempting now. Very.

Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
It's a vicious cycle - they aren't selling enough normal priced tickets, so they have to sell a load of them for knock-off prices. Then next time around they're going to get even fewer people buying the initial normal priced tickets in the hope of cheaper ones.
Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
Bought a pair for Saturday too
I knew there would be something nearer the time but this is ridiculous!

Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
I shouldn't be so angry, but I'm finding it hard not to be. This is so cynical it's unreal. BST do not give a shit about charity, this is all about getting more people in there buying food, drink and merchandise and looking good for the cameras.

Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
The other thing about it is if they had priced it more realistically they wouldn't have to resort to this to fill the place either. With only 1 of the 6 selling out and the other 5 all allegedly having at least 10k tickets available, its obvious that £85 is too much for a one day event, might also have been better to have a stronger line up over 3 days, than 6 fairly weak ones - how many acts starting before 5pm are people really interested in? (To be fair I think Blur have one of the stronger line ups further down the bill). All academic now really.JackS wrote:I shouldn't be so angry, but I'm finding it hard not to be.
