In that period, Oasis were gaining the popular ground. It would have been unwise to release 'B-Roads' which seems to be downbeat.

These two posts are good but contradict each other; generally I don't think Damon is an analytical and promotional, advertising person and probably wasn't then as he isn't now. I simply think it was a shit movie or embarrassing.

With all this said... I'll be in the UK in June and would be curious if anyone who has a copy wouldn't mind me coming over and having a few beers and watching this...

Damon may not be promotional, but he would realise that releasing 'B-Roads' at that crucial time in their career would be negative.

Probably because of the negative perception and ramshackle behaviour or 'look;' they'd yet to get the darker edge they did later on in their career. From what we've heard (most of us) it seems the media would have latched onto them and some of the angles they would have taken would have done them more harm than good.

Damon seemed like a sound fella during this period too, some of the help he gave his bandmates and the anecdotes are the signs of a good friend.

Yes, I agree on all points you make. It would have been a negative release at the time of their commercial peak.

At this point I don't care about b-roads anymore, I'd rather watch footage of the band filming the various videos for S/T album, I'd happily watch how they collect that famous gray and colour stripped jumper from the dry cleaners, that's how little I care about b-roads, the more I read about it the more I know it truly must be crap and pointless

Basically. Besides how downbeat it is, it's rather shocking hearing Damon's mockney accent during the backstage and concert footage, and then have him speaking completely normally, having suddenly "lost" the mockney during the interview inserts.

Why doesn't someone who has B roads upload it to YouTube privately and post the URL in here for we the very minuscule, insignificant spec of the global population who care about its existence and care not to exploit it for any financial gain, to be able to stream it for a window of 48 hours before taking it down again?

It's so hysterically paranoid to think something terrible would come of it. No one at EMI is tasked with monitoring its mention anywhere online. The band are completely inactive. There are no reissues on the horizon let alone another release. The claims that people in a previous forum were threatened with legal action would have been solely down to the fact No Distance Left To Run, which features footage from B roads, was being promoted and released at the time, but that in itself was almost a decade ago now. And in any such case, the means of letting members view it would be in a concealed and private format.

The tragedy of this is how little anyone else in the world gives the slightest f*#% about its existence for any harm to be done, but the tiny little population of Blur obsessives that want to see it purely to satisfy their own personal, niche curiousoty are tantalised by the fact a select few in the tight nit circle of this forum have seen it(and presumably have copies) but sensationalise the risk of sharing it with the rest of us.

Sorry to reopen a can of worms, but lets be honest, it's the single most intriguing topic on this forum...

Any Blur fan of nearly 30 years like me, well of course we want to see this, dark? depressing? well bring it on, I don't see the problem? why if you have seen it, would you resent another fan seeing it?
