Discussion about the band and related projects.
This is what got Taylor Swift so high up in the chart this week, right? So it's not a bad strategy in terms of keeping the album in the charts (hopefully number 1 again). Says a lot about the value of music these days though...
The album going to number 1 did seem to generate quite a few news stories, which in turn probably created more sales. 'Reunited Britpop Band with No.1 Album' is probably quite an advantageous position to be in, so why not try and stay there as long as possible :pJensen wrote:Isn't it too SOON for this kind of strategy??
Still, this sucks for non-huge bands who simply can't afford to play this kind of game.
Now everything makes senseTripleJay97 wrote:That's what I thought. I'm just amused that The Magic Whip is now literally a 99.
But really. I know nothing about music marketing nowadays, but in my eyes, giving the album FREE just A WEEK after its official release is devaluating it A LOT. I don't know if they will mantain a high position in charts due to that trick, but couldn't they wait a bit to see?
still doesn't work... probably it needs to recognize your devices as ones from the british isles... and your credit card and so on... I tried changing the idiom, but it doesn't seem enough, I will try later under a proxy, see what happens. I will buy a cd, and I'm againts buying mp3s... but just to help the charts if I get to do it, I'll buy
Yeah came up as 99p for me.
