Swamp Song

What the hell are the lyrics to this song?
I always thought it was
"Gimme music, gimme love,
Like penicillin"
But I've just read Veikko's lyric page and it's apparently
"Gimme music, gimme love,
Abandon us in love"
Any other interpretations?
I also hear "soul lines" as opposed to "saliva".

I agree with you, I thought it was gimme music, gimme love, like penicillin

It certainly makes more sense with the "STICKIT IN MAH VEIIIIINSSSS" line.

The 13 booklet doesn't have any lyrics in it, does it? So, I guess it's all open to interpretation. For me, it's "like penicillin".

The lyrics he used to sing live were quite different to the lyrics on the album version. I also think the album version doesn't compare to the live version.

This reminded me of someone in the old forum saying that in Trimm Trabb, instead of "I sleep alone" they understood "I SLEEP IN LAVA".

I've always heard "abandon us in love"
plus as far as I know penicillin goes in your butt cheek not through veins, unless you've found a really weird and painful way to get high

Well, at least it's pretty clear where the "stick it in my veins" line came from.

I always thought that was a reference to heroine, and that the whole song is about drug consumption in general.

Yep, seems quite evident to me as well.

I've always heard "gimme sunlight" myself.
And for the longest time I though it was "stick it in my face"
