The "security guy" who carried him off has posted this online....

Hi everyone. Can I please address you all and ‘Random Person below?
I’m the stage manager for the Africa Express project/gigs, I’m the big, bald bloke carrying Damon off.
We had two days rehearsing before the gig where Damon was , and always is, just one of the team/artists who contribute to this wonderful gathering. We are a gleeful family, all pulling together, bouncing ideas around and collaborating with each other to produce a great show, diverse and interesting [we hope?!]
We pull together Senegalese artists, Kenyans, Congolese etc. We all gather and try to produce what is an almost impossible task, it's really hard work! If Damon was at all interested in simply adulation... he could go about it a much easier way!
I carried him off like I had to carry off the fantastic drummer from 'Jupiter' at the Kings Cross show, everyone is equally carried off!!!!
Please understand, the Africa Express is all about love, African musical collaboration and equallity, mutual respect and just hitting that groove while we smile at each other, basking in the joy of creating a vibe you guys can dance to or listen to and enjoy. Damon is a sweetie, he his a hard working, creative bloke who wants to be part of stuff. And he is. Off stage he is warm, clever, sharp, witty often cheeky and vibrant. Want to help him? Buy African music, travel there and love your neighbours.
Sorry, just got home, tired and needed to say that. x
