Sounds like it could easily be a MLIR B-Side. Would it really feel out of place tucked between Es Schmecht and All We Want? Liking it a lot! Oh man I feel like a kid again. ^.^

Oh good shout! It feels like a lovechild of those two, now that you mention it!

I am absolutely bowled over by this - I fucking love it. What a perfect Blur track it is - it doesn't lazily hark back to any one particular Blur era, it has lots of little classic Blur bits.....the guitars, a wonky/discordant bit, the harmonies, amazing melody......and it all adds up to make one wonderful and odd little pop song, the type Blur excel at.

And Graham's Syd Barrett section is absolutely fucking amazing.

I'm so happy about this. Though they were my favourite band growing up, as I've got older....and heard a much broader palette of great music...I've listened back to Blur albums and, while I still love it, always feel they still, despite all that great music, maybe never quite fulfilled their potential. And I always thought they had another great record (or three) left in them. But I got the fear after the album news....I wondered if there was a place for them, if Damon's heart would be in it etc. But I should have known better. Made up with this.

Nice to see a few familiar names....wotcha Rubi, Salmon!

Should pick up plenty of airplay, ramp up excitement for the album - bang, 27th April.
Well, it isn't the catchiest but it certainly does sound a lot like old Blur, which could explain the fact that it's gonna be a single. I still think that Ong Ong would've made a hell of a first single though.
You would've preferred Ong Ong? OMG!

You sure you listened to the right track?

Anyhow, XFM has named it their track of the week:

Ha ha! As Trimm Trabb said, it feels like a combination of Es Smecht and All We Want.

For me it certainly is feeling like it could be, can't believe none of this would have happened without Graham, what a legend. :)

Playing 4 songs live on April 24th on the show.
After been dismayed at Radio 2 ignoring Go Out, they sure made up for it this morning, Chris Evans giving them massive kudos "best band of the last 30 years etc" interview with Alex James who sounded very excited about the whole thing and even a play of She's So High on Radio 2 breakfast!

Yep, that's what I thought as well. Has the same vibe to it, with a bit of London Loves in there as well. I think it's a great way to start the album.

I know how to really enjoy this song now. The other two we've been listening very intensely at it. Trying to cherish every little sound. I think Lonesome Street works a lot better stepping back and just breezing along with it. I can imagine starting doing some work with this playing and enjoying it and then finding myself dancing instead of working.
