Some LPs come with a bonus CD inside, so as Albarn's Everyday Robots. But CD is in custom sleeve, with no booklet and artwork.

So I went to my local record store to buy the first new Blur album in 12 years.....

And they didn't have it. :o

They barely have any new CDs nowadays. I'm not sure how they stay in business, honestly.

I figured that it's morally right (and makes me feel like a good person) to support local business, so I had them order it for me, and they say it should arrive by the end of the week.

My Blur plans have been delayed. :(

Those pictures of racks lined with the new album make me so jealous. Ah well, patience is a virtue.

I usually don't wish to live outside of southern California, but it sure would be nice to see that in my local record store! Here it's like finding a pearl in shit.

Yea, zoo, I hope my lo-o-o-cal has it. I had to pay $18 for the last Warpaint CD at Barnes & Noble! That's the problem being so far from a big city.

No just the one sort of album so far in all countries apart from Japan, which gets Y'all Doomed tagged on the end. Nothing else.

The ice cream van would have worked for promotion in the UK, but in Hollywood, they could have had a dominatrix promote the album with her "magic whip". ;)

^ha!

I do love how the title 'The Magic Whip' works in so many different contexts. Obviously there's the ice cream link, which can be used as a metaphor in 'Ice Cream Man', but there's also the sleazy, S&M connotations which really fits in with the dirty suggestiveness of Go Out. Oh and what Damon most often refers it to, the idea of a party whip and being kept in line (making sense for Pyongyang most obviously).

Probably their cleverest album title.
