Rather nice ally pally segment around the 43mins where Hannah a 17 year old fan went to blur's ally pally gig. I wonder if Hannah is a member on the forum The People's History of Pop, 4. 1986-1996 All Together Now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b083dj11" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; via @bbciplayer

Yes, I saw that. It has been a good series of programmes.

Interesting how the indie/rave-type fans tend to remain 'true' to their cause.

That is a good point. It can be surprising how many avid fans are not active members of the clubs, forums, FB pages that represent an artist.

But if Hannah is here, hello.... :D

I'm listening to this on BBC Radio 4 now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04jj113

It's only tangentially about Blur, but someone might enjoy it. :) I did.

Today I was wearing my Parklife album cover shirt. Two people thought it had to do with dog racing.

I know one person in this area who knows Blur and British music. I'd be shocked if there is anyone else. F'n rich boring snobs. I hate this place.

That was quite corny but also very real and sweet; some of the lines in here are hitting. I like the simple things he taps into. I think the story about being on holiday in Denmark and getting the train into Copenhagen and buying an album you've been looking forward to and that being 'the coolest thing ever' is true. I travelled for months alone in Europe and felt the pangs all that brings, the loneliness and the excitement and the cocktail of different strong, potent, high-percentage emotions and listening to an album can make you feel like you're in the middle of the coolest moment of your life.

I noticed that Graham changed his guitars for single songs over the years. Like Oily Water (Les Paul around 96, Gibson SG around 97) or Parklife (yellow Telecaster around 1994, black Telecaster around 2015). But he use guitars like the Gibson ES-355 for This Is A Low since over 20 years. Is it connected with the tuning or a special sound of another guitar? Does anybody know something? Other musicians do this, too. Like Noel Gallagher, who used his Epiphone Casino in the mid 90s for nearly every song, but changed later.
