AB - I don't think The Jam were as 'retro' as Blur were at the time of MLIR.

The Jam were immediate, Blur (on MLIR) were more nostalgic.

Blur have been nominated as Comeback of the Year 2015 for the Rober Awards Music Poll, and everyone can vote for them here:

Now I'm looking for the video with an interview to Damon and Graham in which they talked about Syd Barrett. It's a video from early 1992 in Canada as I remember.

The single Beetlebum turns 19 today.
This is one of my all-time favourite songs. Also, I do like All Your Life a lot, and M.Caldato Jr.'s remix too.

Beetlebum, a great video for a great song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZGiVzIr8Qg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What's the reason? Will he be there... to promote anything? ;-)

I think it could be to talk about the Bert Jansch shows, but who knows? :)

Elton John on his love of Blur (BBC6)
listen: https://soundcloud.com/greystoat/elton- ... ve-of-blur" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

“They’ve been together 30 years and I think is the best album they ever made. And I told them so, and I told Damon. Graham Coxon is probably the world’s best guitarist. The space between the drum and the bass player, Alex and Dave, the way they play together. Damon’s voice is like an instrument. He is not really a vocalist but he uses his voice like an instrument, there’s not other singer like him. My Terracotta Heart is just…my god. What an amazing achievement 30 years on to make something which is the best thing you ever done, with that amount of energy and passion, but the musicianship and the space in the production, and I say that because I’m a musician and I listen to it, and I think, ‘that’s exquisite’. The things Coxon plays on every track is just breathtakingly beautiful and simple. When you have four musicians playing in sync like that, so well, is just fantastic.”

Shameless promotion time 8-) :

My Wikipedia page for The Beautiful Game (The Official Album of Euro 96)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beautiful_Game_(compilation_album" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
(when you click on the link and it takes you to a 'that page does not exist' page that also says 'Did you mean The Beautiful Game (compilation album)', click on that)

Besides featuring Parklife, Damon took part in the promotion, playing football with Gaz Coombes and Massive Attack at Wembley Stadium

I'm normally write pages for esoteric folk or world albums. This is my biggest exception so far.

Graham will be talking to Jamie about his passion for jazz - the artists he's into, how he started listening and how it's influenced his own music.
But I suppose he will say something about Celtic Connections Festival and hopefully something about new solo material.

Isn't that the same background as the hidden image beneath The Magic Whip CD tray?
