I can't imagine they did all of this for nothing. But it would be funny if this was the work of a new overly excited social media intern for the record label.

^this, somehow I have the feeling someone is taking the piss. Who would have an interest to hack Damon''s account and then come back writing his name wrong twice?
Sounds a bit Banksky style like in Exit thought the gift shop, where you never knew what was fake or reality

Nothing happened at 23:23 UK time either. That's sad, but oh well

So If i'm getting this straight, Damon's (instagram?) and YouTube got hacked and stuff put on there that was irrelevant (RIP Harambe and 'Damon Albatn/Albatm'). If that's the case I guess there was intended something today but the hacking has made them delay it, no?

Yeah, if something mesesed it up, it could be this hack. But what if it's still too early? I can't believe that nobody out of a bizillion newspapers, sites or Twitter accounts that know about the album missed out the time mark. If the release of some sorts was really scheduled for today, nme or someone else could have dropped the news accidentally.

Just catching up on all this having been away for a couple of days. Been reading through all your posts since I last logged in with tension building, building... what's the news??? Oh, it's nothing. How very strange.

Really don't know what to think now. Are we to expect something any time soon or is it going to head back to dormancy again for a while? Who knows. :?

Well, it was weird indeed. But then again not so much compared to all the stuff we had to go through on this forum and the old one over the years with news and rumours and speculation and weird communication. The old forum being locked down about six months before the band would announce their first album in 14 years to mention just one...

I think we all agree that the promo for Phase 3 was botched. Releasing the Stylo audio without the video was absolutely bizarre, and lots of bizarre decisions followed. Hopefully it's not the same people in place this time again. It's worth noting Gorillaz is a joint venture between Damon/Jamie and EMI (not widely understood). Perhaps last time there were too many cooks spoiling the broth, not helped if Damon and Jamie weren't working together completely effectively.

In general I have misgivings about Blur/Damon's management as the treatment of/communication with the fans often seems suspect - eg closing the official forum, the repeated Hyde Park mega-gigs (surely a new venue would be appropiate now).

Yeah, and I hope they release a new single straight with a promo video and not some cheap lyric/audio video. I think many people rush to watch the latter, but have already forgotten about the single when the actual video comes out (the fresh example is Green Day's new single "Bang Bang": the lyric video gained ~10 million views while the promo video has stopped at about 2 million views). Gorillaz have so much potential with their visuals and a well-timed quality promo video can for sure generate new fans and sell records.
