I don't think they should have included that 'avatars holding page'. i have no idea what or who is going on for the rest of the album but that song extra problematic :P

My vinyl copy has just arrived at work. :D Looking forward to hearing the songs again tonight. I've avoided listening to anything online since I saw the show in November.

so are there 2 alices? one real life one and one avatar one? that must have been interesting on stage.

also its songs like in clover i just wish it was damon singing. They've obviously picked a guy that sings in a similar tone but he not so good

Yes, that's right. The character is known as Ali in the real world and when she joins the Wonder.land online game she wants to create a more glamorous persona as she is being bullied at school, and Alice is the avatar she creates - essentially the Alice in Wonderland we all know in terms of look. There's actually techically a third Alice too, when the avatar turns evil and wears a red costume instead.

Although 5/10 is too low, there are some good points in that review. The soundtrack is a bit tame/generic considering it's meant for the 'digital age' version of Alice In Wonderland. Some more experimentation wouldn't have been bad. And while most of the melodies are beautiful and memorable, the arrangements don't gel well on some songs like "Secrets" and "I'm Right".

The album is around 7/10 for me with the best songs being "Me", "Fabulous" and "Man Of Broken Glass" (up there with the best songs Damon has done outside Blur and Gorillaz).

who are you is probs the best track.

but yeah it is a bit tame for the digital age. Didn't it start more electronic but it didn't sound that good live?
