Damon Albarn, Music
Moira Buffini, Book & Lyrics

does it mean damon won't write the lyrics for the songs? do we have a chance of see him singing (like in dr dee) or he is just writing the music?

Shame. I really hope he's in a song or two, though I'm sure I'll enjoy it either way.

Does anyone else think that the music will be heavily based on electronic instruments (keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, vocoders, etc) judging from the theme of the story? I've said this before, but now I wonder if anyone else thinks that's what it might sound like.

After all, the credits did say that Mike Smith would help with the music, and when Mike's involved with Damon stuff, he usually does electronic instruments.

This does look intriguing. Having said that, I think side-projects like this are always more popular with the artists themselves than any of their fans.

Let's hope it does better than Sting's recent Broadway effort!

I think it's very healthy that artists stray from the comfort zone and stretch themselves a bit by working on something different and new. Creativity must live outside the confinements of the "write-record-tour" routine. All my favourites are people who have explored different avenues in music, visual arts, film... true, not all fans will be interested, but those with a wider interest in the world of the arts will follow.

I agree. The best musical artists tend to be interested in creativity in a broader sense. Someone like Kate Bush comes to mind - fabulous music but so much more: intriguing concepts, a flare for visual design, dance, film making. These sorts of artists are never dull. Might be challenging at times, but give me that over repetition any day.

OMG THE CAT'S EYES MOVED WITH MY MOUSE AND FREAKED ME OUT.

The story sounds a bit , eh, but they had to have a modern twist to it because no one would go and see it. Aside from obviously wanting to hear the music, I'm looking forward to seeing the costumes and stage art for it
